The story

Uranus, the primordial sky, fathered the Titans with Gaia, among them Cronus, who ended his father's long reign by castrating him with an adamantine sickle Gaia had made, angry that Uranus hated and hid away the children she had borne him; once the deed was done, Uranus receded from the story and no longer came to cover the earth by night. Cancer's own crab entered the sky as a small casualty of a larger conflict, sent by Hera to nip at Heracles's heel during his fight with the Hydra, crushed easily underfoot and set among the stars anyway for its trouble. A planet whose own myth begins with a parent hiding his children away from the world meets, in Cancer, the very sign of home and shelter; a generation under Uranus here is read as one asked to break open exactly the domestic structures that Cancer would otherwise keep closed and protected, prying loose whatever an older order preferred kept hidden inside the family itself.
