The Vaidhriti nitya yoga
a birth, or an activity begun, under the Vaidhriti nitya yoga, the panchanga's own yoga found by summing the Sun's and Moon's longitudes, not a planetary combination yoga
What the tradition reads
Vaidhriti is the twenty seventh and last of the nitya yogas, closing the cycle Wikipedia's article on the Panchangam describes as running through the full circle of the sky in shares of thirteen degrees and twenty minutes, found from the sum of the Sun's and Moon's longitudes rather than from any planetary combination yoga formed between grahas placed together in a chart. Onesanatan.com reads its name as lack of support, holding back or calamity, names Diti as its ruling deity, and classes it inauspicious, a verdict astrogle.com's own reading confirms, describing a native as critical and scheming by nature, and powerful enough to be overwhelming either mentally or physically. Both sources agree Vaidhriti is among the most difficult of the twenty seven, its calamity read as something actively opposed to support and stability rather than as simple misfortune passing through.
The story
Diti, Wikipedia's article records, is a daughter of the Prajapati Daksha and a wife of the sage Kashyapa, and becomes through that marriage the mother of the Daityas, the race of asuras that includes Hiranyakashipu and Hiranyaksha among her children, born, in the Bhagavata Purana's telling, after her own impatience led her to approach Kashyapa at an inauspicious hour despite his hesitation. The same tradition names her bitter rivalry with her sister Aditi, mother of the devas, as the root of the wider cosmic conflict between the two families, Diti described there as cruel toward both her husband and her sister and instrumental in helping her sons contest the gods for control of the world. A yoga of holding back and calamity, ruled by the very mother of the asuras whose long opposition to the devas the tradition treats as one of its oldest and least resolved conflicts, fits Vaidhriti's difficult standing as the fitting close to a cycle that opened, twenty six yogas earlier, with love.
