The Ayushman nitya yoga

a birth, or an activity begun, under the Ayushman nitya yoga, the panchanga's own yoga found by summing the Sun's and Moon's longitudes, not a planetary combination yoga

What the tradition reads

Ayushman is the third of the twenty seven nitya yogas, the panchanga limb found, as Wikipedia's article on the Panchangam explains, by adding the Sun's longitude to the Moon's and dividing the total by thirteen degrees and twenty minutes, a computation distinct from any planetary combination yoga formed by two grahas standing in aspect or conjunction within a single chart. Onesanatan.com reads the name Ayushman as long lived, and both onesanatan.com and astrogle.com class the yoga auspicious, astrogle.com's own reading naming good health and longevity along with a generally energetic temperament as its native's chief traits. Onesanatan.com names Chandra, the Moon, as Ayushman's ruling deity, the same deity given to the far less fortunate Atiganda yoga later in the same list, a pairing the tradition does not explain but that sets the Moon's gentler, life sustaining side against its own more dangerous one within the twenty seven yogas.

The story

Post Vedic texts, as Wikipedia's article on Chandra records, give the Moon a settled and untroubled parentage, naming him son of the sage Atri and his wife Anasuya, a gentler origin than the Moon's own later marriage troubles with Daksha's twenty seven daughters. It is this same monthly return, waning to nothing and then filling again to fullness without ever finally disappearing, that the wider tradition reads as the Moon's clearest sign of endurance: a light that is dimmed but never extinguished, restored on a fixed and reliable schedule rather than lost for good. A yoga named for long life, ruled by the one classical body whose visible cycle is renewal itself, gives Ayushman's auspicious reading its most direct source, health and longevity understood less as an unbroken constancy than as the Moon's own proven capacity to come back from its lowest point every month without fail.
