The seventh bhava

the seventh whole-sign house in the Vedic chart, Kalatra Bhava

What the tradition reads

The seventh house, Kalatra Bhava, the house of the spouse, governs marriage and the spouse, partnerships, foreign trade and sexual attraction in the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra's list, and business ventures and agreements in Uttara Kalamrita's. It stands directly opposite the first house across the chart's widest angle, and the tradition reads the pair as a single axis, the self on one side, the other on which the self depends or is measured against on the other. A well disposed seventh house is read as giving a supportive, capable spouse and successful partnerships of every kind; afflicted, the tradition warns of delay or difficulty in marriage, discord with partners, or alliances that do not hold. Because it is a kendra, one of the four angular houses, the seventh carries real weight in the chart beyond its narrower reading as the marriage house, and the tradition treats a person's public alliances generally, not only the marital one, as running through whatever this house shows.

The story

Paramarsh.app's Kalapurusha doctrine maps the body onto the twelve rashis, not the twelve bhavas: its FAQ states plainly that the scheme works by "each of the twelve signs governing a specific anatomical region," and its discussion of the sixth house calls that rashi based map, together with any house's own analysis, "distinct tools" rather than one single map of the chart's twelve houses. On paramarsh.app's own table, the kidneys and the lower back belong to Tula, the seventh sign of the zodiac, described as governing "kidneys, lower back (lumbar), adrenal glands, skin," not to Kalatra Bhava, the seventh house, as such. Tula holds the seventh position only in a chart where Tula itself occupies it; in every other chart a different sign sits there, and the kidneys travel with Tula rather than staying fixed to the house opposite the Ascendant. Astrosutras.in's own line for the seventh house names marriage, the spouse, partnerships, business ventures and legal partnerships, the concerns Kalatra Bhava is actually read for, but no organ of the body.
