Venus trine Uranus

Venus trine Uranus, within one nativity or between two charts in synastry

What the tradition reads

Within a single chart Venus trine Uranus is read, together with the sextile, as one of the pairing's easy contacts, and sources describe the trine as the more dynamic of the two: Cafe Astrology's natal reading says the "ability to get along with and accept people from all walks of life as friends is strong," paired with a sharp instinct for detecting insincerity and real success at maintaining unconventional or long distance arrangements, an attitude toward love the source calls "open and progressive." Between two charts, one person's Venus trine another's Uranus is read, together with the sextile, as a supportive bond in which "life is naturally exciting when you are with each other": the couple shares unconventional interests and, in the source's words, "the Venus person is romantically drawn to the Uranus person's more unusual and unique qualities."

The story

A trine sets two bodies at the triangular distance from each other, four signs or one hundred twenty degrees apart; Ptolemy's chapter on the mutual configuration of the signs names it, together with the sextile, harmonious, since the signs it joins share the same gender. Hesiod's account of Aphrodite's birth is the plainer of the two the myth keeps: born, as Wikipedia records it, of the sea foam gathered around Uranus's own severed remains, she is, in this telling, quite simply his daughter, whatever Homer says elsewhere. At the widest of the tradition's easy angles, the tradition reads that plainer account settled fully into ease, an origin needing no dispute at all.
