Jupiter sextile Pluto

Jupiter sextile Pluto, within one nativity or between two charts in synastry

What the tradition reads

Within a single chart Jupiter sextile Pluto is read as "faith in your ability to effect change and grow, improve, and heal," the tradition naming an excellent researcher's perceptiveness and a real talent for handling other people's resources, whether money or raw ability, and leaving them improved. The wish to make things better runs deep enough that sources note it can be hard to simply leave a working thing alone, and the aspect is said to favour careers built on transformation and investigation: healing, law, psychology and medicine among them. Between two charts, one person's Jupiter sextile another's Pluto is read as mutually reinforcing: "you tend to put your faith in one another and encourage each other's ambitions, growth, and direction," the tradition describing the pair as strengthening one another along the lines of belief and ambition specifically, with the bond often proving materially beneficial to both sides as well.

The story

A sextile is sixty degrees, a sixth of the circle, one of the four configurations Ptolemy names, read through the compatible signs it joins and requiring some active engagement on the native's part to bear its ease into use. Jupiter and Pluto are brothers. Cronus, the Titan the Saturn page says the Romans conflated with their own Saturn, fell from power, and the cosmos was divided in three among his sons: Zeus, whom the Jupiter page itself names as the Greek original the Romans retold under Jupiter's name, took the sky; Poseidon took the sea; Pluto took the underworld, on the telling Pluto's own page gives. At this easier angle the brothers cooperate without touching directly, the sky's wide reach and the underworld's hidden wealth trading favours across the very distance the old division set between them.
